Tomorrow is the last day of school for my girls.
And this week I have been thinking about summers past. When they were toddlers and I was not working full time yet. Summers that felt genuinely free. Splash pads and dollar store art supplies and no agenda and nowhere we had to be.
I miss that feeling. Not in a way that makes me regret building my business. But in a way that reminds me why I built it.
Freedom is one of my core values. Not just financial freedom. Present freedom. The ability to close my laptop and actually be somewhere with my kids without my brain being somewhere else.
Here is what I have learned though. That kind of freedom does not happen by accident when you are a working mompreneur. It has to be built. With systems and automations in place that hold the business up while you step away from the screen.
Summer is one day away. Your kids are about to be home. And the mompreneurs who thrive this summer will not be the ones who hustle harder. They will be the ones who automated the mundane before June hit.
Here are the 5 automations I have set up in my own business and home that have given me back real, actual time. I talk through all of them in depth in Episode 12 of The Visionary Mom Podcast. Go listen after you read this.
1. Your Email Welcome Sequence
When someone joins your email list, they should hear from you right away. Not just whenever you happen to send a newsletter. An automated welcome sequence introduces who you are, what you stand for, and where they can go next.
I use Kit for my email marketing and my welcome sequence runs on its own every single day. Someone downloads my CEO Day Guide, they get added to my list, and over the next several days they receive a series of emails I wrote once that now work for me around the clock.
That is passive relationship building. And it is one of the highest leverage automations you can build before summer.

2. Your Asana Team Workflows
If your VA or team member needs you to explain the same tasks every single week, you are the bottleneck. And being the bottleneck in summer is exhausting.
I have built out workflows in Asana that mean my team knows exactly what to do for every episode and every week of content without me sending a single message. Templated task cards. Documented steps. Clear expectations. The system holds it so I do not have to.
If you have a VA, building your Asana workflows before summer is one of the highest ROI things you can do. If you do not have a VA yet, building them now means when you are ready to hire, onboarding is already done.
3. Your Content Scheduling
Posting content manually every day is one of the most unnecessary drains on a mompreneur’s time. You create the content once. You schedule it. The tool does the posting.
I batch content once a week during my CEO time block. By Monday morning everything is already queued. I do not think about it again until next week’s batch session.
In summer this is everything. Because you do not want to be scrambling to post while your kids are home asking to go somewhere.
Batch it. Schedule it. Go to the park.
4. Your Home Systems
This one is not a business automation. But it belongs here because the mental load of managing a household directly affects your ability to focus when you do sit down to work.
Our Dragon Touch family calendar has changed our summers. It sits in our kitchen and shows my girls the schedule for the day. Their chores, whether it is a camp day or a home day, what the plan is for the afternoon. They check the calendar. They know the plan. I am not fielding the same logistical questions forty times before I have had coffee.
I also do a Sunday afternoon prep each week in summer. Snacks washed and portioned in the fridge. Art supplies organized and accessible. A summer activity bin with options already pulled out. Home systems create peace. Peace creates focus.

5. Your Client Onboarding
If you are manually sending your welcome packet, contract, and scheduling link every time you sign a new client, a system can do that for you in thirty seconds.
Your onboarding should be a workflow. Client signs. Sequence kicks off. They receive everything automatically. Professional, seamless, and completely off your plate.
This means you can sign a client on Tuesday and spend Wednesday at the pool with your kids, knowing your new client is still getting a great experience.
That is what it looks like when your business works for your life instead of the other way around.
What Automation Actually Gives You
Automating your business is not just a time strategy. It is a presence strategy.
When the mundane is handled, your brain is actually free. Not just your schedule. Your actual mental presence. That is when the real summer moments happen. The ones your kids will remember.
